JOB TITLE: SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: FINANCE
REPORTS TO (TITLE): DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND BUDGETING
Primary objective of the job:
· Responsible and accountable for efficiency in “Supply Chain Management” across the hospitals in terms of profitability, holding cost, sale in retail counters. Be a pivotal player on the logistics planning process and to create strategies by analysing information and processes and suggest corrective process.
Number of persons managed/supervised and their positions:
· Direct reports as per the SCM organisational structure
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible to implement standardised processes of procurement across hospitals.
· Review MIS and KRAs of hospital on periodic basis and work on operational plans to achieve target in terms of cost control, inventory days, sale in retail sale etc.
· Review “process audit check points” of the hospital of periodic basis to ensure compliance with statutory requirements as well as IFC (Internal finance control check points)
· Take initiative on “cost control projects” as well as work on “continuous improvement process” to bring efficiency in operation.
· Manage “Warehouse” to ensure timely supply of materials to hospital at cost effective price.
· Responsible to conduct periodic review of processes as per SOP of hospital and make necessary changes/additions in SOP as per business requirements.
· Work closely with Clinical Heads of the hospitals to understand new requirements of end users and plan to implement same in time bound manner.
· Manage “Centralised item master” to ensure uniformity in item master.
· Fix KRAs of each department in line with overall MHMC board target and monitor performance on periodic basis.
· Coordinate with external and internal audit team and ensure closure of audit points in time bound manner.
· Responsible for purchase/procurement of Medical and Non-Medical items.
· Accountable to arrange physical verification activity of stock across stores of hospital on periodic basis to ensure accurate inventory valuation.
· Work on dead/non-moving inventory to liquidate stock within hospitals or focus on reverse logistics.
· Roll out optimised material forecasting method based on consumption trend and end user requirements to ensure optimum service level.
· Analyse consumption trend of materials and strategise optimum usage of consumables for different procedures or surgeries.
· Provide suggestions to automate the SCM processes to reduce errors and human resource in long run.
Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
· Masters of Business Administration plus a minimum of 8 years’ experience inclusive of supply chain management.
OR
· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting plus a minimum of 10 years’ experience, inclusive of supply chain management.
· Prior people management experience is a must
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Ability to manage logistics of all aspects of supply chain.
· Knowledge and understanding of the Material Management Module of HIS.
· Must be able to comprehend legal documents.
· Strong communication skills and the desire to build lasting relationships with people all over the world.
· Ability to work under pressure, prioritise, multitask, and lead a team.
· Ability to train and educate associates on department specific aspects when required.
