JOB TITLE: SECURITY SHIFT SUPERVISOR
DEPARTMENT: SECURITY
REPORTS TO (TITLE): HEALTH SERVICES MANAGER
Primary objective of the job:
· To oversee the entire safety measures undertaken at the hospital and to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone in the hospital.
· To oversee the deployment of security guards as per the roster and to ensure a safe and secure environment.
· Oversee and manage assigned shift to ensure safety and security
Number of persons managed/ supervised and their positions:
· Direct reports as per the approved Organizational Structure.
· Responsible to manage the safekeeping of the People, building and property of the MHMC hospital.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Schedule and monitor the daily deployment of security guards.
· Keep track of the Gate Pass register.
· To ensure all guards are trained in the system of Firefighting.
· To ensure that adequate surveillance is carried out within the hospital.
· Carry out routine checks of the various departments of the hospital during the Shift, and liaise with Heads of Departments where necessary to ensure that security and safety are maintained
· Prepare reports on abnormal occurrences, security breaches or violations for submission to the Chief Security Officer to ensure that the integrity of the security systems is maintained.
· Participate in relevant training periodically with regard to enhanced processes and procedures to ensure improved efficiency of the Security Department of the MHMC.
· Record all incidents, inspections and discrepancies in a logbook and submit it to the Manager-General Administration (Support Services) on a weekly basis.
· Maintain and monitor daily Attendance Records of Security guards on assigned shifts and submit monthly reports of staff attendance and regularity to the Security Officer.
· Assist in the coordination of disaster management training for all the staff of MHMC.
· Oversee the frisking activity being carried out in the hospital and ensure that it happens in a smooth and seamless manner without affecting patient care.
· Manage the lost and found items log and physical storage ensuring safe keeping and proper sign off of claimed items.
Academic qualifications and experience required for the job:
· Diploma/ School Leaving certificate.
. Previous experience in similar role including supervisory experience.
· 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
